¿Solo Cuatro Dias? = Only Four Days? Yep – four days left of first grade. Completely crazy if you ask me. Even though your first grader is super-close to the end of the school year, you HAVE to see some of the hard-working writers we had in our room today! I snapped a few photos at the last minute, thinking you’d like to see it too. So, as you read through our brief post this week, enjoy seeing a snapshot of the hard work that continues to occur in our first grade classroom. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
- Conversation Starters
- INCREDIBLE First Grade Writers
- A Smile for You
- Your class read two books this week called Memoirs of a Hamster and Memoirs of a Goldfish. Tell me what happened in each story. What are some things that are the SAME about the stories and some things that are DIFFERENT about the stories?
- Tell me your Rose, Bud and Thorn for today. (If you don’t know what a Rose, Bud and Thorn is – ask your first grader or click on the words above.)
INCREDIBLE First Grade Writers: Today, the wonderful first graders in Room 203 worked on a writing prompt to show everything they knew about narrative writing. They had the opportunity to write their hearts out and it made me so happy to see them working so hard. Even though you can’t tell what the stories are about, I hope you can see how diligent these first graders are when they put their mind to something. They have SO MUCH potential and it’s exciting when it comes out like it did today! Check out the photos below.
A Smile for You: Since we have gotten close to the end of the year, sometimes first graders get a little silly in the classroom. Hmph. Therefore, we now have a daily incentive to make better choices by EARNING the chance to watch a video of my dog, Rosie. When the class makes great learning choices, they earn a letter in Rosie’s name. When we spell her whole name, we watch a video of Rosie. One of the videos they watched this week was of me walking Rosie. Some of the kiddos thought it would be fun to pretend THEY were walking her while we watched the video. So, your smile this week is of a few kiddos “walking” my dog in our classroom. Enjoy. Smile. Have a fantastic weekend. 🙂
